Howling Towards That Blue Expanse: Umarrah

May 13, 2020 Kate Belew with Umarrah (London, England)

I drove for hours but made it to the river

just as they said it’s too late

And what do we say about timelines regardless

when the past, present and future are ever-present.

To speak to the currents of being, I am

just a nomad companion to the Moon

and we ride wild down the road each night

as if its our own form of meditation

howling towards that blue expanse

the vast space filled with words unsaid

that walk from us like little bird's feet

free to follow each whim and pleasure.
